What I want to know is, do journalists have some sort of template they all work from whenever some white asshat shoots a bunch of people? Journalism students, above probably all of their peers must be the most idealistic at the start. “People need to know the truth”. They certainly didn’t get into this business for the big bucks. So I have to ask, is this what you dreamed about in journalism school? Making excuses for psychotic caucasian manbabies who kill innocent people, even little kids? Are you proud of what you do when you vilify people of color with coded language and stereotypes? Is that pittance of a paycheck worth allowing this cycle to continue? And then there are the politicians. I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you PROBABLY got into politics to try to make the country better, but now, you’re bathing in the blood of thousands of innocent people. I DON’T GIVE A FUCK if the NRA has pictures of you doing hookers and blow and it would destroy your marriage and career if the truth came out. Make this opportunity you’ve been given WORTH IT. To the journalists and to the cowardly politicians that bow and scrape before the NRA I say this: throw yourselves on the fucking grenade. Make that young person deep inside your heart proud that you did what you always told yourself you would do. Be a hero. Change the world.
