Previous Post “COPY AND PASTE TO SHARE: Y’all: NEITHER RALLY IS CANCELLED. This is exclusively optics to deflate counter-protest. The SF Rally has just been moved to Alamo Square Park and renamed a “press conference”. What’s the difference between a white supremacist, nationalist, and Nazi rally and a press conference? Nothin’. There will still be a ton of racists, and now they’ll be talking directly to the media to try and shift the narrative to one of victimhood. The Berkeley rally was NEVER cancelled! The permit that was denied wasn’t required as no permit is required for MLK Park in Berkeley, it’s just first-come, first-served. The permit denied was a formality and for projected sound. Nor does the organizer saying that it’s only going to be her change the reality that white supremacists from all over will be congregating in the Bay and WILL be showing up to this event. This is -propaganda-. It’s to minimize counter-protest, confuse bystanders, muddle optics, and make it harder to effectively organize. Some things to do: -DON’T share things saying that the event is cancelled unless you’re gonna add that this is intentional misinformation that the media is engaging in that deflates community turn out. -If you’re confused about something, ask your organizer and activist friends before sharing information! -Even if the events were to be totally cancelled, and no one from the white supremacists showed up, we should STILL organize mass mobilizations and coalitions, show up and talk to one another, and discuss the threat that is racism, white nationalism, white supremacy, and far-right idealogues pose to our communities! -Show up at Alamo Park, don’t let them control the narrative. Disrupt, disrupt, disrupt. -Come out to Oxford and Addison in Berkeley on Sunday for the Bay Area Rally Against Hate at 10 AM, one of the largest leftist and liberal coalitions in decades all showing up to discuss this threat, talk about our experiences, and build true solidarity in the community in order to keep one another safe!”
